Scott R. Shive, 73, of Freeburg, IL, born Friday, May 13, 1949, in Indianopolis, IN, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at his residence in Freeburg, IL.
Scott worked at Sterling Steel Casting as a foundry-man early in his career. He chose to become an electrician, working his way up the IBEW apprenticeship program. He was a member of IBEW 915 Tampa, FL for the remainder of his career and concentrated on the commercial side of the industry. In all work, Scott believed in doing the job right!
Scott was known as a free-spirit with a unique, insightful and zany view of the world and people. He loved telling stories (he often was the main character) with the purpose to make you laugh. He was fond of fast cars starting at age 20 with a 389 GTO and ending with his green Corvette. He was a life-long Harley rider, fitting his desire to taste the wild side of life!
Scott was honest, conscientious, fiscally conservative (cheap German) and a dependable friend.

I have always enjoyed Scott sharing adventures and stories. I’m so sad to hear of his passing. Gone too soon.💚
Deepest sympathy to Nancy and family.
To the Shive Family: I’ve known Scott most of my life and he always brought a smile to my face. He will be missed.
Just learned of Scott’s death. He was a good friend in college. I remember racing our GTO’s early one morning back to William Woods. I had hoped to see him at college reunion this year. He was a great person and I am really sad to hear of his passing.
