Eleanor “Ellie” R. Teel

Eleanor “Ellie” R. Teel, nee Struckmeyer, 77, of Belleville, IL, born Wednesday, September 4, 1946, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Freeburg Care Center in Freeburg, IL.

Ellie dedicated her whole life to her family and took on the role of homemaker after marrying her beloved husband Alva R. Teel III who preceded her in death 4 short months ago.

Ellie was involved with practicing Shorin-ryu Matsubayashi-Ryu karate and went on to obtain the rank of black belt. She was a fierce protector of her family but also had the sweetest soul. She was the proudest and most loving mother and grandmother. Her beautiful red-lipstick smile lit up every room. She was a friend to everyone. Her faith in God was strong and unwavering. Her heart was committed to the Catholic Church from which she found much kindness and peace.

She was preceded in death by her:

• Brother, Bill Struckmeyer

A Memorial Service celebrating the lives of both Eleanor and Alva Teel will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 11:00am, at St. Augustine Church in Belleville, IL with Msgr. Bill McGhee officiating.
