Stephen Kent Chaney, 80, of Belleville, IL, born Wednesday, July 9, 1941, in Altamont, IL, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021; at Touchette Regional Hospital in Centreville, IL.
Stephen was a business manager for an architecture and engineering company. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Belleville, IL. He resigned as a Captain in the Air Force, stationed at Scott Air Force Base. He was a member at First United Presbyterian Church for 47 years where he recently served as a “Stephen’s Minister”. More recently he and Billie June just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
He was preceded in death by his:

- Parents, Leland “Fred” and Daisy Lucille, nee Moran, Chaney
- Brother, Dennis Chaney
- Sister, Donna Carmichael
- Brother-in-law, Max Carmichael

- Son, Thomas Chaney
- Brother, Robert (Barbara) Chaney of Waterville, OH
- Sister-in-law, Naomi Chaney of Apple Valley, CA

- Ansley (Stefan) Pride
- Victoria D. Chaney
- Jesse T. (Jordan) Chaney
- Many dear great-grandchildren and many dear nieces, nephews and cousins
Memorials: Memorials may be made to First United Presbyterian Church in Belleville, IL or Belleville Area Humane Society.
Visitation: Visitation will be held at 9:00 -11:00 am, Monday, November 8, 2021 at First United Presbyterian Church in Belleville, IL
Funeral: Memorial Service will be held 11:00 am, Monday, November 8, 2021 at First United Presbyterian Church Rev. Rob Dyer officiating. A procession will leave Kurrus Funeral Home Tuesday, November 9th, 2021 at 9:15 am, for a 10:00 am, interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.

So sorry to read of Mr. Chaney’s passing. My condolences to his beloveds. He was always a bright and vivacious church member who I enjoyed. May he rest in peace and his beloveds be sustained during their time of grief with happy memories.
