Marjorie L. Meinen “Margie”, nee Willis, 97, of Belleville, IL, born Thursday, March 18, 1926, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Freeburg Care Center in Freeburg, IL.
Marjorie worked for Famous Barr (Macy’s) for over 30 years before retiring. She started out in the downtown Warehouse for China and Silver. She then became the Assistant Buyer for China and Silver before transferring to the Fairview Heights location where she worked as the Department Manager in China and Silver. Her final role before retiring was in the Children’s Department. Her family loves her greatly and she will be truly missed.
She was preceded in death by her:
- Husband, Harold J. Meinen
- Parents, Joseph and Nell, nee Ungaard, Willis
- Brother, Joseph Willis Jr.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Belleville Area Humane Society
Visitation: Visitation from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, IL.
Funeral: Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm, Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Kurrus Funeral Home, with Ron McGrew officiating. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.

Alan and Pam so sorry for your loss. Uncle Harold and aunt Margie were a part of my life for over 60 years. Even though Harold died young she was always part of the family. I won’t be able to be there to celebrate her life since I’m out of town. Love to all !
