Born: December 10, 1983 - Deceased: 20211002
Jessica M. Yancey, 37, of Belleville, IL, born Saturday, December 10, 1983, in Belleville, IL, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021; at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, MO.
After spending sixteen weeks in the ICU, Jessica left for heaven on October 2, 2021. She was absolutely precious and the best daughter I could have ever asked for. She was a strong, beautiful, innocent, and an extremely loving person. She loved to hug everyone that came within her reach, even strangers. She touched many people’s hearts with her hugs. Strangers would say, with tears in their eyes, “Thanks, I needed that.” She loved life and got a big kick out of everything. She laughed easily and was known to always have a big, beautiful smile on her face. She expressed herself in unique ways and got everything she wanted without ever saying a word. She stayed young at heart and because of that, it helped everyone around her enjoy life even more.
Thank you to all the nurses, doctors, secretaries, respiratory therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, housekeeping staff, and everyone else that took care of her (us) on 8300 ICU at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Thank you to all those who prayed for her and to all the chaplains that took care of our spiritual needs as well.

Carole, and Jessica’s whole family, it was a privilege and honor to care for Jessica. I loved praying for and with her. I will continue to hold you and all who are grieving her absence on this earth in my daily prayers. May her huge smile imprinted on your heart makes you smile.
Thank you very much ❤️
Carole, I just saw Jessica’s obituary hanging in the break room. I am SO sorry to hear this. I just got huge tears in my tears reading her obituary and I am sending all my love to you and the rest of the family. I would love to reach out and help in ANYWAY I can. I hope you see this, as I know it’s a bit late. I absolutely loved caring for Jessica and miss having another mama to talk to who “gets it” — and of course that would be you! ❤️
