David A. Barbeau, 72, of Smithton, IL, born Sunday, November 2, 1947 in East St. Louis, IL, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at his residence in Smithton, IL.
David was a supervisor for Ameren Power Co. He was a member of American Legion Post in Smithton, IL and served in the U. S. Army during Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his:

David was the best brother sisters could have. He would do anything for anyone. Dave would occasionally call his family to see how things were going and to let us know we were loved. He and Linda made sure all guests at their home were comfortable. RIP Brother!

I am saddened to learn of David’s passing. We grew up together in East St. Louis and lived in the same neighborhood. Attended school together, and I remember that we often played together during the summer months. I recall going to Grand Maris (Frank Holten) SP sometimes. It’s amazing how fast the year’s have gone by. I am sorry I didn’t keep in touch with him. Please accept my heartfelt condolences and sympathy…
