Born: September 24, 1939 - Deceased: 20210726
Beverly A. Crum of Belleville, IL born September 24, 1939, in Belleville, died Monday, July 26, 2021, at Freeburg Care Center in Freeburg, IL.
Beverly was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her kind and gentle soul left an impression on everyone she met.
Beverly started her career in banking, coordinating events in the Marketing dept. at Greater Belleville Savings & Loan. She enjoyed being around women in the business world and was voted in as President for the group of Business Professional Women, (BPW) for 2 years. Beverly continued in the Savings & Loan with several mergers and retired as an Executive Secretary to the President and Chairman of the Board for Illini Federal Savings & Loan. Upon retirement she worked alongside her loving husband, Rowland Crum, as owners of the Appletree Apartments in Belleville. Beverly worked at IV & Respiratory Care in Belleville.
Rowland & Beverly were active members of St. Matthews United Methodist Church. They also supported Pastor Steve Moore officiating at Shiloh United Methodist Church for a year before returning to their home church, St. Matthews. She was a living example of her faith, serving the Lord with grace and compassion to all who crossed her path. She enjoyed her friends, music, dancing, and tried her talents with playing the organ at Lacefield Music where she served as President of a new LIFE group (Lowery is Fun and Easy).
Beverly’s greatest joy was her family, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Taking care of each one and putting her love into cooking the best dinners ever. She often invited others to her family meals, which made for very large gatherings around the holidays. No one left without a hug and some food to take home.
Beverly was a member of the Elks Lodge BP481, and Woman’s of the Moose Lodge 1221. There was a reserved table at Fischer’s Restaurant where she and close companion, Denver Russ, would enjoy their evenings dining with many friends.

May God Bless you Beverley it was a great joy to be a part of your life with Debbie and Keith. I know Debbie will greatly miss you every day. She will cherish all her precious memories of you. And know you are in Gods hand .
I loved Miss Bev with all my heart. I was blessed to be her hairdresser for the last 18 years. We shared so many life stories about family and the fun times she had over the years. She was an amazing surrogate mother for me too. Always a great listener and a woman of God.
Bev was always so put together with her clothing makeup etc. She was a true classy lady. RIP Miss Bev You will be missed!
Please accept our sincere condolences on the loss of your loved. Please let us know if we can help in any way . With our deepest sympathy, Sincerely. John and Cathy Crutcher
We are so sorry to hear about your loss. I was blessed to have worked with Bev for many years in the Savings and Loan business. She was the kindest and most caring person I have ever worked with. She was always ready and anxious to help our customers and her fellow employees in any way possible. We were also blessed to know the family as our kids were close to the same age and went to school together.
You are in our thoughts and prayers.
