Marie was my pew-mate for many years at Concordia. We were also Bible School partners helping the little ones learn about Jesus. When I sit in my usual spot next time at Concordia, I will miss seeing her sitting by me on the aisle. I hope you will join Dorothea and Pearl as another one of my Concordia guardian Angels. Rest in peace dear lady.
So sorry to hear this news. We know she is in Heaven.
Mitch, Marty and I are so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. We will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.
So sad to hear of her passing. I know that Heaven is having a big party for this precious lady. I was so proud to be able to know Ms.Marie through the Veterans Canteen Service. She was a remarkable lady. My daughter and I send many Prayer, Hugs and Love to the family. So sorry for your loss.
I loved Marie. She was one of my favorite people at VCS. Always a kind word and smile for everyone.
Marie was a special lady! Always ready to give hugs if needed! I am so privileged to have worked with her for many years. Condolences to her family.
Marie was a devoted member of Concordia UCC, teaching Sunday School, Bible School and involved many organizations within the church. It was my pleasure to have known her and shared our faith for the years I’ve know her.
My sincere sympathy to her family.
Rest in peace.
The Friends of Fisher House St. Louis extends our heartfelt condolences on the passing of Marie Gemmingen. We are grateful to her and her family for encouraging memorial contributions in her honor to be made to the assist the Fisher House in St. Louis. Our board president, Jim Donahoe, worked with Marie for many years at Veterans Canteen Service. Jim had great praise for Marie’s calm way of listening to then helping customers who called him to complain — and got her! — at VCS.
We are honored to be able to help Veteran’s families in her memory, as we serve with the motto “…because a family’s love is good medicine.”
We wish the family of Mrs. Gemmingen great peace in their memories of her.
