Bruce C. Touchette, 91, of Belleville, IL, born Saturday, January 16, 1932, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Mar-Ka Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mascoutah, IL.
Bruce worked as a policeman, fireman, and switchman for B&O Railroad for 22+ years. He was a member of I.B.A.A., Moose Lodge in Swansea, IL, Order of the Arrow, earned the rank of Eagle Scout, and was the former owner and operator of Touchette’s Liquor and Confectionary. He was a track and field athlete for East St. Louis high school, winning the conference championship in 1949 and 1950. There were many things he loved in life, but fishing was his passion. He fished countless Pro-Bass Anglers tournaments for 46 years. His garage was a testament to his craft, inundated with lures, reels, and trinkets so he could always have the right tool for the job.
