Janice “Dolly” Krallman, nee DeScheda, 76, of Smithton, IL, born Saturday, May 10, 1947, in St. Louis, MO, passed away Friday, May 19, 2023 in Smithton, IL after a difficult battle with chronic progressive lung disease.
Dolly was a beloved individual by her entire family. In 1966, she married Richard “Sparky” Krallman. The two shared a long, loving marriage for 50 years until Sparky’s passing in 2016. Dolly was a wonderful woman who was always present with a smile and engaging conversation. For years, she dedicated herself as a gracious and talented hostess, extending and welcoming others to her gorgeous Red Bud, IL home business, Magnolia Place Bed & Breakfast. Dolly was an accomplished cook, seamstress, painter, and an avid gardener. She had a green thumb and a knack for creating beautiful garden landscapes for herself and others to enjoy. Her children, Kristina Stein and Richard Krallman inherited that love of flowers and nature from her. She served on the Red Bud Illinois Beautification committee and was a member of the Red Bud Illinois Chamber of Commerce and the Southern Illinois Tourism Bureau.

Family would like to express a special thanks and appreciation to Dolly’s medical care team, Dr. Nidal Shawahin, Dr. Kashif Bhutto, and Dr. Prasad Kandula. They were also blessed to have Family Hospice of Belleville involved. Dolly passed on peacefully and with dignity surrounded by her loved ones. Her family takes solace in knowing that she will no longer be in pain or distress. They will find peace and comfort in her lasting memories.

me so many things from arts and crafts how to walk when I was a baby and all the things conversations we’ve ha. I will cherish all the memories of you!
