Alice A. Waeltz, nee Wallace, 84, of Belleville, IL, born Sunday, December 18, 1938, in Marissa, Illinois, passed away Monday, May 8, 2023 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL surrounded by her family.
Alice was a retired supervisor for Mallinckrodt Medical Equipment in New Athens, IL. She attended St. Matthew Church in Belleville, IL. She was a loving caretaker in the nursery during MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) program, member of Christian Rockers Sunday School Class and the New Life Club, holding an office of “Sunshine Club” for many years, where she would send out get well and sympathy cards to members and their families. Alice and husband, Bud enjoyed many years of camping at Carlyle Lake and made some special friends. In retirement, they took many vacations, spanning the nation from one coast to another.
She was preceded in death by her:

- whom she married on May 27, 1961
- Parents: Livingston L. and Anna L, nee Farmer, Wallace

- Cindy Sue Waeltz, who resides at Choate Mental Health Center in Anna, IL
- Nancy Anne (Don) Knapp of Belleville, IL
- Grandson: Alexander (Cassie) Knapp of McPherson, KS
- Granddaughter: Allison Knapp (Bruno Borda) of Belleville, IL
- Great-grandson: Paxton Knapp
- Many special nieces, nephews, cousins
Special Thanks: Many thanks to University Rehab & Nursing Home during a recent stay and the medical team at Memorial Hospital in Belleville.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Matthew New Life Club or St. Matthew Children’s Ministry.
Visitation: Visitation from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, IL.
Funeral: Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Kurrus Funeral Home, with Rev. Doug Stewart and Rev. Larry Patton officiating. Interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, IL.

Alice was the most selfless person I’ve ever met. Through the difficult times she’s had these last years, Alice kept her sense of humor, and joy of life. Alice’s love for her family was always at the forefront. Rest in peace Alice…..

I will be going out of town Saturday to celebrate my great-granddaughter’s first birthday. I am so sorry to miss Alice’s service. She was such a dear, sweet person, so faithful to her family, church and friends. She is missed, but may she be having a great celebration in heaven with those who have gone before. My deepest sympathy to all who mourn.

I am so sorry for your loss. She was the most beautiful, thoughtful, caring mother and grandmother imaginable. I will cherish the memory of picking out candle names and scents, or random project she outsourced to me to figure out for your gifts and just how fun she was wanting to celebrate all of you. She will be so missed by so many. Heaven surly gained a Saint for us to meet again. Sending out love and prayers.

Very sorry to hear of your loss! Alice was class of 57 ,we were 58′ My brother was her class mate,Dr Howard Johnson. We had so much fun in those HS yrs. Always treasure our friendship! Our prayers n hugs to you n the family 🙏
