Donald D. McAlister Jr.

Donald D. McAlister Jr., 57, of DeSoto, MO, formerly of Granite City, IL, born Thursday, July 15, 1965, in Springfield, IL, passed away suddenly Friday, September 9, 2022 at his residence after a long and courageous battle with numerous health issues.

Donald was a graduate from St. Louis University High School and attended Washington University and St. Louis University formerly employed at Ralston Purina, Pet Incorporated and numerous construction companies. He worked as a carpenter and was a member of Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council and St. Louis Carpenters local.

He was preceded in death by his:

  • Katherine Habermehl of Swansea, Illinois
• Uncle: Robert J (Linda) Habermehl of Highland, Illinois

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the St. Louis University High School Scholarship Fund, 4970 Oakland Ave. St. Louis, MO. 63110.

Visitation: Visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 am, Saturday, September 17, 2022 at St. Henry Catholic Church in Belleville, Illinois.

Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, September 17, 2022 at St. Henry Catholic Church, with Rev. Ken York officiating. Private family interment.
