Lucille D. Shannon, nee Kastelic, 94, of Belleville, IL, born Saturday, February 12, 1927, in Sangudo, Alberta, Canada, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Magnolia Terrace in Waterloo, IL.
Lucille was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia, IL, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Charles Fricke Post #805. She was an avid gardener with a phenomenal green thumb. She loved being outdoors around her flowers with her friends and family. Lucille was a true St Louis Cardinals fan and tried her best to never miss a game. Over the last year, Lucille developed a passion for painting- creating cardinal birds and nature scenes for her beloved family. Her excitement for life was contagious and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, St. Louis VA Medical Center Fisher House, or in the form of masses.
Visitation: Visitation from 8:30 am – 10:00 am, Friday, May 14, 2021, at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Illinois.
Funeral: Graveside Service will be held at 10:45 am, May 14, 2021, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, with Fr. Clyde Grogan officiating, Live streaming can be viewed live at www.facebook.com/KurrusFH at approximately 10:45 am from Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
