Raymond A. Herr

Raymond A. Herr, 89, of Belleville, IL, born Saturday, January 12, 1935, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024, at Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, IL.

Ray was an East St. Louis Policeman, a Chief Investigator for the States Attorney’s Office and Sheriff of St. Clair County from 1978 – 1982. He was a member of the Gothic Lodge #852 A.F. & A.M. Scottish Rite Bodies, Ainad Shrine, Southern Illinois Court #86 ROJ and American Legion Post #53, Washington Park, IL. He was a United States Army Veteran.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children of St. Louis.

Visitation: Visitation from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Illinois. Jesters walk- through will be held at 7:13 pm, followed by the Masonic Service at 7:20pm.

Funeral: Funeral Service will be Friday, May 24, 2024 at 11:00 am at Kurrus Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Swickard officiating. Interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.
