William G. “Bill” Allen, 66, of Caseyville, IL, born Monday, June 4, 1956, in St. Louis, MO, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Il.
He attended Cleveland High School in St. Louis and studied environmental science at Belleville Area College in Belleville, IL. Bill worked at P. D. George Co., St. Louis, MO for 18 years, starting as a general laborer moving his way up to warehouse manager. He was a volunteer firefighter with Caseyville Fire Dept, retiring after 11 years of service with the rank of Vice-President, Bill genuinely cares about people and would do anything for anyone. In 1995 he received the Fire Departments Presidents Award for his work assisting residents after major flooding earlier in the year. Bill loved being outdoors, fishing, camping and bar-b-que. Auctions and yard sales were favorite past times and an avid baseball card collector. He was always ready with a comeback and could always make you laugh.
He was preceded in death by his:
- Mother, Delores nee Noll, Allen
- Father, Richard Allen
- Brother, Donald Allen.
Surviving are his:
- Wife, Donna nee Capell, Allen whom he married February 14, 1975 at St. Matthews United Church of Christ, St. Louis, MO
- Daughter, Kira (Jeremy Johnson)
- “bonus” grandchildren:
- Regan Johnson
- Michael Johnson
- Noelle Burns
- Brothers:
- Russell Allen of Ironton, MO
- Richard Allen of Imperial, MO
- Sister, Carol Sapolis of St. Louis, MO
- Nieces and Nephews
Bill was much loved and will be greatly missed.
Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Caseyville Fire Department.
Visitation: Visitation from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, Monday, January 16, 2023 at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, IL.
Funeral: Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm, Monday, January 16, 2023 at Kurrus Funeral Home, with Rev. Dr. Joe Scheets officiating.

This breaks my heart. Bill was a good friend and always gave me hell about something. Like calling me “barbie” when I was tearing down the trailer for him. I will miss talking to him and giving him hell right back. I’m so sorry Donna and Kara for your loss. May he R.I.P.
