Viola I. Vogel, nee Blaies, 90, of Mascoutah, IL, born Sunday, March 16, 1930 in Belleville, IL, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2020 at Freeburg Care Center in Freeburg, IL.
Viola was a member with St. John’s U.C.C. in Mascoutah, IL, Belleville Moose #1221 and Women of the Moose since 1968 and former member with Trinity U.C.C. in Belleville. She was a Girl Scout Leader for 34 years.
She was preceded in death by her:
- husband, Clarence Vogel;
- daughter, Sandra Hoock;
- parents, Cornelius and Florence S. nee Sutton, Blaies;

So sorry for your loss. Tootie was a beautiful woman inside and out. She was so thoughtful and caring. She was the best grandma to my boys and to all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. I couldn’t have asked for a better mother-in-law. She will be missed by many. Prayers and hugs to the family.

My condolences to all of you, but especially Carol. I remember so many days of dolls, tea parties and dress-up on my front porch with Sandy and Carol. May Tootie rest in heavenly peace.

Viola was known as Aunt Tootie to me and her other nieces and nephews. Growing up I have so many good memories of her. She was like a mom to me. She had an infectious laugh & smile. She will be Greatly missed! Sending my sincerest condolences to Carol, Butzer, Dennis, Dale, and Lisel and their children.

Tootie was my Girl Scout leader back in the 50’s and 60’s. Along with her family responsibilities, she found time to lead our group. I’d like her family to know how appreciative I am for her past support, leadership, and example.
