Teresa Lynn Knaus Ptasnik, 69, of Belleville, IL, born Friday, November 12, 1954, in Belleville, IL, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville.
Teresa dedicated her life to teaching, working as a pre-school teacher in Smithton, IL for many years.
She was preceded in death by her:
- Parents: Dr. William and Helen, nee Collins, Knaus
Surviving are her:
- Son: Elliot Ptasnik (fiancée Shana Greif)
- Sisters
- Carol Eckert of St. Louis, MO
- Patricia (Ken) Cange of St. Albans, MO
- Mary (Christopher) Raming of Belleville, IL
- Step-mother: Bobbie Knaus of Belleville, IL.
Memorials: Memorial Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. (donate.cancer.org)
Services: A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Elliot, I am so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. I moved out of the area over 10 years ago and lost touch. Your mom was always smiling and having fun. I have so many fond memories of many good times we shared. Gone to soon. RIP

Elliot and family, so so sorry for the lose of your mother. We will miss seeing her at the Cat And Fiddle. Your grandfather and my father -in- law Dr. John Carroll were very good friends. We miss them both too I would ask your mom when I seen her how you were over there in Hawaii. You went to school with our daughter Casey Hunter Garrett. Again so so sorry for your lose ❤️
