We are sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. He was such a resilient man of many talents. We loved his antler pens. We are praying for comfort and blessings for all of you.

I first met Steve at Lowry AFB, Denver Colorado February 1981. We started “Fundys” together. After tech school we both arrived at Bitburg AB Germany in August 1981. That’s where Steve and I really had the greatest of times. I left Bitburg in February 1986 but we stayed in touch as best we could. We met up again sometime around 1989 when I was at Holloman AFB. We even got to trout fish together. I also got to know Steve’s folks, Martin and Joyce when they’d snowbird in Destin Florida when I was stationed at Eglin AFB. We last saw Steve and Helen in Belleville Illinois on our drive from Florida to Alaska in August 2011. Fond memories of a great man and of a life well lived. He was a kind and gentle man that was loved so much. For Helen and family, our deepest sympathy. Rest in peace buddy. We love you. You will be missed. Find the Light and we’ll meet again in the East Brother Steve.
