Ruth Inez Weinkauf, Van Hoose, 101, of Belleville, IL, born Friday, September 19, 1919, in Christopher, IL, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Edwardsville Care Center in Edwardsville, IL.

Ruth was involved in church ministry her entire life and a founding member of Life Church in Swansea, IL, formerly Glad Tidings Church, where she was the church secretary for many many years upon retiring.
Ruth and her sister Margaret were some of the first women in the Southern Illinois area to host a radio talk show. It was a thirty minute inspirational program on station WIBV and was entitled “Moments of Comfort”. She was very involved in the Womens Aglow Ministry and active in evangelistic ministry. She counseled and help many people through out the years.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Life Church.

Visitation: Visitation from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm, Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Life Church in Swansea, IL.

Funeral: Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Life Church, with Pastor Rick Van Hoose, Pastor Mike Fowler, and Pastor Mike VanBritson officiating. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.

The Church is following all CDC Guidelines.

Aunt Ruth left behind a beautiful legacy of love and grace. She will be missed by anyone who had the priveledge of knowing her! God bless her family and friends as they say goodbye.. but just for a little while! Till we all meet again!

So sorry for your lost. Ruth was a great person. I went to church with Ruth a lot and hung out at her house . I lived across the street from her for years until she moved from Pontic Rd. She will dearly be missed. Sending prayers to the family.
