Robert P. Howlett, Jr., 85, of Belleville, IL, born August 26, 1938 in East St. Louis, IL. and passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
Bob retired from Plumbers local #360 after 65 years of service. He continued working with the Illinois State as a Plumber Inspector until the age of 80. Bob was a Army Veteran, a member of Gothic Lodge 852 AF & AM, Ainad Shrine, Scout Master Trout #9, and loved fishing, hunting and watching sports.
He was preceded in death by his:
- Parents: Robert P. and Beulah, nee Williamson, Howlett
- Son: Kirk Howlett
He will be dearly missed by his:
- Wife of 49 years: Martha nee, Eiskant, Howlett
- Children
- Keith Howlett (Corrie)
- Kim Howlett
- Kent Howlett (Linda)
- Maribeth Ord
- Chad Howlett
- He was the proud grandfather to 6
- Zach, Cody, Laura, Daniel, Kirk Jr., and Brook
- 4 great grandchildren
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Shriners Children’s – St. Louis, MO, or Hospice of Southern, Illinois.
Services: Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the Shiloh Eagles.

Bob could not have been a better neighbor and friend to Frank and me. We enjoyed his cooking and comparing our gardens. He helped me in so many ways. He is in heaven now with his family.
