Rita M. Bruss, nee Lehman, 96, of Swansea, IL, born Monday, January 12, 1925, in Belleville, IL, passed away Friday, April 9, 2021; at Mar-Ka Nursing Home in Mascoutah, IL.

Rita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and recently a great-great-grandmother. She was a member of St. Augustine of Canterbury in Belleville, IL and she volunteered in the past at their Friday night bingo. She worked at K & B Mini Mart and sold Tupperware. She was a volunteer in out-patient surgery at Memorial Hospital in Belleville for 8 years and enjoyed dancing at the USO.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, St. Augustine of Canterbury in Belleville, or St. Matthew United Methodist Church.

Visitation: Visitation from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Friday, April 16, 2021, at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Illinois. and from 9:30 – 10:00am, Saturday April 17th, 2021 at St. Augustine of Canterbury in Belleville.

Funeral: Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, April 17, 2021, at St. Augustine of Canterbury-Belleville, with Msgr. Bill McGhee officiating. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.

It is so difficult to lose the one’s we love the most. So sorry for you loss. I have many fond memories of growing up just two doors away. It is truly a sad day. I will always remember your mom, she was always so friendly and pleasant. I will keep you all in my prayers.
