Phyllis A. Evans, nee Morris, 81, of Belleville, IL, born Monday, October 2, 1939; in East St. Louis, IL, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021; at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.
Phyllis and husband Harry were the owners of the Phyllis and Harry Catering Company for 35 years.
She was preceded in death by her:

- Gerald Morris
- Eric Morris
- Sister: Dorothy Owens
Surviving are her:
- Husband: Harry Evans of Belleville, IL
- Son: Curtis E. Hobbs of Belleville, IL
- Sister: Sharon Winchester of Fountain Valley, CA

- Great grandchildren

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
Visitation: Visitation from 1:00 – 3:00 pm, Monday, April 5, 2021 at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, IL.
Funeral: Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Monday, April 5, 2021 at Kurrus Funeral Home, with Pastor Rich Bersett officiating. Private Interment.

My Aunt Phyllis was a loving, kind, and beautiful person inside and out. My sincerest and deepest sympathy to everyone who loved Aunt Phyllis. We will miss her so much. I remember her giving me a shirt with “Twinkie the kid” written on it and it had a big Twinkie because I used to ask her for Twinkie’s when I was young. I also, remember going to Aunt Phyllis and Uncle Harry’s house to get other snacks from the catering truck when they lived behind us – she was always so kind and gracious in everything she did. We all have very fond memories of her and she will not be forgotten. We love you Aunt Phyllis.

So many good memories, too many to mention, taking me to the movies, taking me to Disneyland, all the nights I spent at your house and all the fun we had together. You will always be in my heart and always be remembered. I Will always love you.❤️

Our sister-in-law, Phyllis, was a beautiful person inside and out. We will forever cherish and remember all the great times we had with her over the years. Many fond memories of spending time with her and we are blessed that we were able to spend time with her last summer. Phyllis, we love you and will miss you.

Aunt Phyllis was always in good humor, generous, and thoughtful. She could fit in anywhere. She had a beautiful voice and manner of speaking that was charming. It attracted people like bees to honey. She and Harry were real partners in life. She really appreciated him and let everyone know it. My heart aches that she is gone.

Phyllis had many qualities but her greatest was probably LOVE. She always had room in her heart for one more. We could talk for hours on the phone. My living in California put miles between us but she was always close to my heart. We always had at least one good belly laugh before we hung up the phone. When we were kids we always managed to fine trouble. Dad would punish her because she was the oldest and she should know better. ” I don’t know why she would even like me. but she did.” always looking out for me and what I wanted. Do I need to say I will miss her? There is a big HOLE in my heart. My only regret is I didn’t get to say goodby. I’m so glad she was my little BIG SISTER.!! Sending My Love to all the family.
