Nancy A. Cahoon

Nancy A. Cahoon, 84, of O’Fallon, Illinois, born Sunday, March 28, 1937, in Monte Vista, CO, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at her home in O’Fallon, Illinois.

Nancy graduated with a BS in Home Economics from the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign (1959) and a MS in Dietetics from St. Louis University (1989). She raised her family in Belleville, IL and settled into retirement life in O’Fallon, IL.

During her career as a dietician, she worked at several St. Louis area hospitals including St. Mary’s Hospital in Maryville, IL and Bethesda Hospital in St. Louis.

Retiring in 2002 allowed her more time for reading, traveling with her husband Tom on tours, visiting her grandchildren, playing bridge in multiple couples’ groups, searching for the perfect recipe in her cookbook collection, and attending many shows and musical performances.

She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Belleville, IL for nearly 60 years where she served many roles including Deacon, Elder, Greeter, and active participant in the Helmsman Couples Group. Nancy was also active in the Paseo Con Cristo gateway Christian community for many years.

She was preceded in death by her:

Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First United Presbyterian Church, Belleville, IL or Donor’s Choice.

Visitation: Visitation from Noon to 1 pm, April 23rd, preceding the Memorial Service at First United Presbyterian Church in Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Memorial Service will be held at 1 pm, April 23rd, First United Presbyterian Church in Belleville, IL., with Pastor Rob Dyer officiating. Internment took place at Valhalla Memorial Gardens, Belleville, IL.
