Miles Gordon Cochran, 66, of Collinsville, IL, born Friday, February 20, 1953, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2019 in Collinsville, IL.
Miles was the owner and operator of Pro-Audio. He was a member of Winstanley Baptist Church Fairview Heights IL, and fostered for Partners For Pets.
He was preceded in death by his:
- Parents, Thomas and Glenna, nee Miles, Cochran
- Brother, Eddy Cochran
Surviving are his:
- Son, Sean O’Brien
- Nephew, Bruce Cochran
- Friend, Doug C. Thompson of Edwardsville, IL
- Former wife, Justine Cochran
Memorials: Memorials may be made to Partners Four Pets
Visitation: Visitation from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Friday, July 5, 2019 at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Illinois.
Funeral: Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Kurrus Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.

I am saddened to hear about Gordon’s passing. He was one of my guitar heroes and had a profound impact on my pursuit of playing guitar. I know he will be missed by all who knew him. RIP Gordon and shower heaven with music.

Gordon and I grew up as teens being next door neighbors. Our families became great friends. He had a beautiful voice and sang at my wedding. I enjoyed watching him play the guitar and sing in his band. We lost touch over the years but I thought of him and his family often. Rob and I were so shocked and sad to see he passed on our online BND. We regret we cannot pay our respects in person as we live out of the area. Prayers for family and friends, especially, Sean and Bruce. I will treasure the happy special memories I have of Gordon.

Gordon was one of the most kindhearted individuals I have ever known. He was tuned in to people and truly cared about them. He loved to see people happy and loved being the provider of that. He loved his furbabies tremendously. He was my jukebox buddy. We loved outdoing each other in playing songs from the past, reminiscing, and making others–and ourselves–smile. It’s hard to talk of Gordon as in the past…that just doesn’t seem right. For certain there’s now a big rock and roll band in heaven.

Gordon was a dear, kind soul. I knew him as a great musician. In 1980 in LA when I put out an ad looking for a guitar player to start a group Gordon answered. For the next three years we played together, traveled together, and laughed together. On my wedding day Gordon was in charge of the audio tape and his “Good luck you guys” are the first words we hear when we listen to that tape. So many good memories flood my mind as I think about Gordon. I am grateful to have known him.

Like so many people I came to know Gordon through our shared love of music. Gordon gave me guitar lessons when I was a young teen and we developed a bond through our love of music and the many hours we spent playing guitar and singing together. I had always hoped to have the opportunity to spend a little time with Gordon again. Gordon was much loved, admired and respected by my family. Today, I came across your grave dear friend, your memory will stay with me throughout all my days. Thank you, for being such a wonderful friend influence in my life.
