Michael T. Lacy was born August 9, 1944 in Salyersville, KY and died July 12, 2023 in Belleville, IL.

Mike graduated from Belleville Township High School and attended University of Evansville and University of Kentucky. Mike was an excellent high school athlete, and enjoyed hiking the mountains of Arizona and Colorado. He spent much of his working life in land development, home building, and mortgage banking. He greatly loved his wife Barbara who was his constant companion. Because their father, Windsor, was killed in WW2 Mike and his brother never knew him. However, they connected with their Dad’s outfit, the 104 infantry, and went to their yearly reunions. They also went on several battlefield tours of Europe with the Veterans, and in this way they were able to feel closer to their father.

Mike was a wonderful companion, brother, and friend. He will be missed.

His parents were Windsor and Helen Lacy.

Played football in 1962 with Mike on the undefeated team. Nice guy, good athlete. Prayers for the family during this time.

Mike was my stepfather for 13 years. While he was married to my mother, Susan Trares, he was a huge part of my life. I am thankful for his sense of humor and his kindness. He encouraged me in school and he believed in me. I will never forget him.

Barbara, Jerry and Joanie,
How can we possibly go on without Mike’s amazing sense of humor and his incredible humanity? Our time together on the Timberwolf battlefield tours and our time spent at countless 104th Reunions will not be forgotten but saved as a precious memory! My deepest sympathies and love to you all!
