Michael was an infectiously charismatic person. All it took was a couple of words with him, and you knew you were talking to a man of great intellect, wisdom, and sincerity. It is sad to hear of his passing, and my most sincere condolences to all of his family and friends.

I remember as a young child my dad helping Mike begin as an electrician and become part of IBEW 309. My father (Harold Cavins) really liked his nephew “Mike” and always spoke well him (as did my mother). Aunt Elaine Cavins was very fond of Mike, too… As I visited Aunt Elaine (Cavins) in her final years of life a few years back, she regular mentioned how she enjoyed seeing him and talking to him. And I was glad that some 40 years later I was able to reconnect with him via Facebook and peek into his life. Looking at Mike reminded me of what my father physically looked like and if anyone has a picture of our great grandfather Fisher from O’Fallon Illinois, they both look exactly like him. On behalf of the Cavins Family, we send our sincerest condolences to Sarah and the family.
