Mark Stephen Ellis, 64, of Fairview Heights, IL, born Tuesday, February 12, 1957; son of Lloyd Eugene and Marian nee Huff Ellis.
Married to Virginia Mae nee Herrington, Ellis in Belleville, on February 14, 1987. She preceded him in death.
Mark served in the Army for several years and worked on river tow boats for 23 years, from Deck Hand to First Mate. He loved the river, growing gardens and keeping close to his wife, mother and brother Mike.

- Michael W. (Roger Portillo) Ellis of Fairview Heights, IL
- David Ellis of Fairview Heights, IL
- Nieces and Nephews
Memorials: The family request with gratitude that memorials may be sent to Heartland Hospice.
Funeral: Services will be private.

I just came across this obituary. I am so sorry to hear that Mark has died. I am thinking of you all, Mike, Roger and David. And, of course of the precious memory of your mother, Marion. A special friend to me. I know how deeply she loved all her “boys”.

Thanks Ted. Mark had a tough 5 months of cancer. His wife died of Covid in December.
The last couple of months he was sure mom & Ginny we’re still alive. I did all I could along with a great Hospice team.
