Linda Kay Powers, nee Steinmetz, 70, of Belleville, IL, born Tuesday, June 19, 1956, in Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2026 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in Saint Louis, MO.
Linda worked for banks in St. Louis handling titles and was a member of Heritage of Grace Church Columbia IL. Linda loved playing Bunco with her friends and she loved feeding the birds. She was kind, generous and loving to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her:
- Parents: Howard and Gladys, nee Morelan, Steinmetz
- Brothers: Johnny Steinmetz and Charles Steinmetz

- Husband: Thomas Powers of Belleville, IL
- Step-Children:

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Heritage of Grace Church, Columbia, IL.
Memorial Service: On Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., a Memorial will be held for Linda Powers at Heritage of Grace Church, located at 8730 Hanover Industrial Drive, Columbia, Illinois 62236, with Pastor Geoff Ingrum officiating. A luncheon will take place immediately afterwards. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Linda.

I knew Linda and Tom many years ago when I lived in Belleville. Linda was always a good friend. I pray for peace that passes all understanding for Tom. God Bless you as you lay Linda to rest.
I am devastated to hear this. I have known Linda my whole life and we were roommates for awhile in our 20’s. We lived far apart but kept in touch on FB when she was on it. Prayers to the family in this time of grief.
I grew up with Linda and even went to Highschool with her. She was such a beautiful sweet lady.
I have been friends with Linda a long time we went to church together and school together when we were kids. We stayed friends ever since I will miss you dearly my friend but I know I will see you again
