Linda Alice Willman, (nee Cain) 77, of Punta Gorda, Florida, born March 29, 1947, in Florence, South Carolina. Linda was born to the late Tommy H. and Eleanor L. Cain. Linda died peacefully at Tidewell Hospice Home in Port Charlotte, Florida.
Linda graduated from Deep Creek High School in Chesapeake, Virginia, in 1965. She worked many years as a office manager and designer for a local construction company in Belleville, IL, until her retirement.Linda loved to travel. She was very proud she had visited all 50 United States, and many foreign countries. She enjoyed visiting Florida beaches.
Linda was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved holidays and vacations with family.
Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years: Edwin Willman, who passed in 2019. She also lost her dear sister, Connie Cain Sawyer, in 2022. Holding a very special place in Linda’s life, was her late beloved grandmother, Alice Hughes Lambert, Jacksonville, FL.
Those left behind to cherish her memory: Tommy Cain Tavares, son, and his wife Sheryl, of Orlando, Florida, and their children, Christopher Tavares and wife, Keylena, of Orem, Utah, and Chase Kuchera and Nawen Engle of El Cajon, CA. Linda Willman Waring, daughter, and her husband, Jesse, of Parrish, Florida, and Linda Waring’s children, Reed Lengel of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Erin Herman and husband Mike of Jacksonville, Florida.
Deborah Cain Rockwell, sister, and her husband, Stephen, of Punta Gorda, Florida, and their children, Amanda Studebaker of Bakersfield, CA, Kathryn Westbrook and husband, Jason, of Birmingham, Alabama, and Kelley Rockwell of Alexandria, VA. Billy Sawyer, brother-in-law, married to the late Connie Diane Sawyer, of Warner Robins, Georgia. Their children: Douglas Sawyer, nephew, and wife Erin, of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Carolyn Conway, niece, of Fort Valley, Georgia. Great Grandchildren: Henley Herman and Hayden Herman, of Jacksonville, FL, and Easton Tavares of Orem, Utah. Great nephews/nieces: Kevin Conway, Adam Conway, George Conway, Joshua Sawyer, Jakob Irwin, Gabriella Rizzo and Abigail Rizzo.
Also, special to Linda was her friend William Burckhardt of Punta Gorda, Florida.
Linda was a very special and important member of our family. She did not judge people and always had a beautiful smile to share with loved ones and new friends. She made the world a better place. She will be missed by all of her family.
Visitation: Visitation on October 10, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, IL.
Services: Private Internment service at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.

Though I had known her for just a year or two, I feel I have lost a dear friend. Such a lovely, sunshiny person she was.
