Jeannine F. Domescik, nee Shaffner, 93, of Belleville, IL, born Thursday, March 7, 1929, in St. Louis, MO, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.

Jeannine was a member of First Baptist Church in Freeburg, IL. A majorette and graduate of East St. Louis High School in 1947, Jeannine met Edward Domescik at First Baptist Church in East St. Louis youth group and married on June 25, 1948. Jeannine was a line cook in District 175, and a receptionist at Rosewood Nursing Home. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. If you knew Jeannine, you knew LOVE. Family and friends were her life. She had an abundance of hugs and kisses for all she spent time with. She instilled moral values in her children, gave unconditional love in her word and deed with her joyful spirit and smiling eyes. She was the biggest fan of all her family’s athletic events, concerts, plays, and awards ceremonies. She was blessed and gifted by God with a beautiful soprano voice and had the opportunity to sing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the Billy Graham Crusade. Her ultimate fulfillment in life was to uplift and support her family. Even in her last days, her radiant smile and laughter brought joy to all those surrounding her. We will miss our magnet of love that drew us all from far and near.

In Her walk with our Lord she gave everyone she met a patient and consistent love. In the many hours she shared with me that moved me closer to the realization of a living Savior I will always be thankful.

Jeannine was full of love and kindness. She was always making others happy. We didn’t know about her singing background. We would have loved to hear how it came about.

She was truly a woman who Loved deeply. God and everyone he created. I will always have very fond memories of her . A very special one was a summer at Lake of the Ozarks. When her and your family came and spent a few days with your aunt Julia. I was staying with your aunt at that time and we had a wonderful time I’m sure you guys are too small to remember but that is always in my heart and my memory bank. And her beautiful voice. I could go on about many things but you already know them all you’re in my thoughts and prayers Love you all

There are not enough words to express how much love Jeannine showered so naturally on all of us.
She always had that beautiful smile and that angelic voice. To hear her and Dorothy sing in the choir one of their duets was such a treat!
She was always genuinely interested in what was happening in your life and if you needed special prayer, fear not, she was there to make sure those special prayers were said.
Jeannine’s family was most important to her and I never heard heard her raise her voice in anger to her children or to Eddie.
And I can tell you I spent a lot of time @ that house! And that couldn’t have been easy. You all know Brett- right? Lol!
Yes, I was her personal hairdresser that came to her house.
Yep, that’s how important she was! Make no mistake about her state! Lol!
Seriously, The Domescik’s we’re like family to mee, growing up in the First Baptist Church Family.
I feel very fortunate that the family we were renting an apartment from when I was 8 years old, invited me to go to Sunday School one Sunday.
It changed my life.
I love this family❤️
Jeannine you will be missed but you will be United with Eddie, Dorothy, Your Mom, Don and other loved ones. It will be a glorious reunion🙏❤️

Our hearts go out to you for the loss of Jeannine. Jeannine was such an important part of our youthful days at First Baptist and always a wonderful friend to my mother, Barbara. I also loved hearing Jeaninne and Dorothy’s duets in that beautiful church. The three of them were members of the Alice Dunbar Circle for probably 70 plus years!! I was blessed to attend a meeting with them a few years ago and I treasure that memory also. Always smiling and so gracious. May she rest in peace and may you be left with many comforting memories.
