Janet “Fern” Williamson, nee Mantle, 76, of Belleville, IL, born Sunday, December 30, 1945, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at her residence in Belleville, IL.
Fern worked as a make up artist and fragrance sales representative for various companies such as Famous Barr, Macy’s, and Dillard’s for over 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her:
- Husband, Edward “Tom” Williamson
- Parents, Glenn Wallace and Dorthea Jean, nee Holland, Mantle
- Twin sister, Freida “Faye” Hayes
Surviving are her:
- Daughter, PJ (Beverly) Elms of Belleville, IL
- Former husband, Benjamin F. Elms of Las Vegas, NV
- Best friend, Earnestine Hampton of Belleville, IL
- 2 Brothers
- 3 Grandchildren
- 6 Great-grandchildren
- Many dear nieces, nephews, and cousins
Memorials: Memorials may be made to Siteman Cancer Center in Shiloh, IL.
Funeral: A private graveside service will be held at Valhalla Gardens of Memory.

She’s in a better place right now
Than she’s ever been before;
All pain is gone; she’s now at rest;
Nothing troubles her anymore.

Fern was such a wonderful person. Her smile was infectious and made everyone feel welcome . It was a pleasure to have known and worked with Fern. Sending prayers of comfort to her family.
