James Raymond Enzwiler, 72, of Belleville, IL, born Wednesday, September 1, 1948, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.
James worked 34 years at Famous Barr/Macy’s in St. Louis, MO and Fairview Heights, IL. He also worked 11 years at the Casino Queen in East St. Louis, IL. He was a member of Cathedral of St. Peter Catholic Church in Belleville, IL and a member of the Belleville/Swansea Moose Lodge #1221.
He loved golf and was especially proud of his hole in one to win the Shorty’s Golf Tournament. He also was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Blues. One of his favorite hobbies was collecting hockey memorabilia and meeting players during autograph signings. He also loved to travel, especially with the family to Door County, WI.
He was preceded in death by his:

Funeral: Private Graveside Service Monday, February 1, 2021 with Rev. Kenneth York officiating. Interment at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.

Sadden by this news. He was a great co-worker and smart too. Enjoyed the 11 years,work relationship. He love his wife and son and talked about them often. He will truly be missed!

Sorry to hear. It was a pleasure working with him at Famous Barr. He gave great fatherly advice and looked out for then, a young kid starting out in the retail world. Jim, hope you are endlessly playing golf and watching hockey. Prayers for the family for their loss.

It was my pleasure to work with Jim at Casino Queen. He was a sparkle in the dismal. He kept us laughing with his stories and one liners. It is with my deepest sympathies that I write this.

I worked with Jim at Famous Barr years ago and remember him being so helpful to me when I was new and didn’t know how to do something. He was nice, funny, helpful and approachable. I am saddened to hear this and give his family my condolences. May you all feel his presence until you see each other again. May God Bless you all and keep wonderful memories close to your hearts.

I knew Jim from Famous Barr. We were often part of the same lunch group. He always brought humor to the lunch table. Very much a gentleman! May your memories bring you comfort during this time of sorrow and in the days ahead.

I knew Jim from working with him at Macy’s and Famous Barr. Jim was such a great man always full of stories about his family, his love of the St Louis Blues Hockey and his love of Door County where he said he wanted to retire.
He was such a joyful happy guy who was always there to help you out.
Jim will be sorely missed by all of us who knew and loved him. It was an honor to know such a fine gentle man.

I worked with Jim at Famous Barr. I was a transfer from another May Division and Jim made me feel welcomed from the first day. He had an amazing personality. He was highly respected in the Finance Division as he treated the company’s money as if it was his own. I loved working with him.
Jim was proud of his family. He had many great stories about them. My condolences to Kathy ,Matthew, and his entire family.

I am just learning of this and am so saddened to hear about Jim’s passing. I worked with him at Famous Barr and loved his fun sense of humor combined with his strong work ethic. He made the days pass faster and made the work more enjoyable. Family was big to Jim and he spoke about them often. He went out of his way every year when my kids were little to call them on the phone on Christmas Eve and act like Santa with them even after we moved out of town. I remember our golf trips with several friends very fondly. He is greatly missed and I am sending my prayers for and condolences to Kathy, Matthew and his entire family.
