Gary Wayne Henderson, 58, of Belleville, IL, born Thursday, January 3, 1963, in Olney, IL, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021; at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, MO.
Gary was a production manager for Millipore Sigma Company.
He was preceded in death by his:
- Father, Richard R. Henderson
Surviving are his:
- Son, Curtis (Erin) Henderson of Columbia, MO
- Daughter, Taylor Henderson (Cody Carlin) of Pevely, MO
- Mother, Barbara, nee Bach, Henderson of Swansea, IL
- Grandchildren: Lacey Carlin, and Chase Henderson
- Brother, Charles (Kris) Henderson, St. Charles, MO
- Niece and Nephew, Lillian and Jacob Henderson.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I miss him so much. He was a great person. Always there for me. We had so much fun together. I can’t believe I won’t see him again. It seems so surreal. He talked about you & Lacey & Curt & new baby Chase often. He loved you so much.

Gary was a good man, He was one of the best people that I have worked with during my 30 plus years of service at the company. I could always count on him for help when ever I needed anything from the T-West guys. He will surely be missed by myself and others. We will be less without him.

Gary and I started our careers on the same day and even went through orientation together. We instantly bonded and formed a friendship lasting over 33 years. My sincere condolences to Gary’s family and friends.

Gary was a great guy, always kind hearted. He was great friend with my brother Larry Foster. They had a lot of fun running together in HS, with Paul Collins and Kendall. Gary was also a friend of mine as well. Rest In Peace Gary.

Gary made navigating the teenage years an enjoyable experience. We did so much together. We worked at the same place, we camped with our great friend Paul Collins. We also got in trouble on a few occasions and had fun every step of the way. Gary possessed a wonderful gift where he could turn an unpleasant situation into a laughable event with a quick witty remark at just the right moment. Taylor Henderson’s comment brought a smile to my face because that was a phrase that Gary could say a hundred times and get a laugh each time. Gary was the friend that was always there. My memories of Gary will live on forever.

Gary was one of the nicest guys I ever met. He would give you the shirt off his back. He was a good boss and a good friend. He will be missed.

Our hearts are heavy with such an unexpected loss. Words can’t describe how sorry I am to the Henderson Family and Gary’s friends during this difficult time. Through sadness, there is a rush of fond memories shared with Gary and our small group of friends as we grew up riding bikes, camping out, playing sports, working together at Mr J’s Ice and just creating general havoc in the neighborhood surrounding that house on Sheraton Drive. Riding bikes to Fallers or school, hanging out/camping out at John’s or Carlyle Lake, playing basketball/leftfield ball at Queen of Peace, playing badminton/croquet in the Henderson backyard, playing tennis ball at Kendall’s and/or playing PeeWee ball at the Arterburn’s, I was always amazed we could accomplish many of those feats and still be home before the street lights came on. Gary was the quiet one with the infectious smile/laugh, dependable and quick wit. Those are traits of Gary’s that will live with each of us forever. Gary may be gone from our sights, but will always remain fondly in our hearts and memories. As his daughter states, Gary is The Man, the Myth, The Legend.

What a beautiful tribute! Gary loved those “good ol days” running around with you guys. He spoke about all the fun you had numerous times and I know those were memories he cherished.

Mr Gary was a wonderful man as we know! He was certainly a great father and grandfather! You will certainly be missed by your beautiful children, and your beautiful granddaughter Lacey! She will have beautiful memories of you and will tell your newest grandson all about you. You were needed for a higher purpose. Ride like the wind up there and spread your wings Mr Gary. ❤️

Gary was my neighbors. When I would go out of town, I would call him or text him to let him know to keep an eye on the place while I am away. He would do the same when he was going to be away for a few days.
Someone said Gary would give you his shirt off his back; one morning Gary walked over to my yard while I was trying to power wash the north side of my house. He knew that I worked the night shift & should have been in the bed sleep. He said , brother what are you doing? I told him & he said put that stuff away & go to bed you know I am chemist. I went to bed & when I got up he was done.
I have an old truck in my garage & Gary was so excited about it. I let him drive it & he was like a little boy. He let me drive his car & said I could come & take my wife for a ride anytime. That is the type of guy I had as my neighbor. Our birthdays are one day apart. He will truly be miss.

So sorry for the loss of Gary This goes out to Barb and the rest of the family. I just found out of his passing. If he worked at the shrine off of 59th street now is Frank scott parkway
I worked at the same place.and i knew his mom and Gary.are prayers are with you at your time of need.
