Donald A. Haley, 88, of Belleville, IL, born Wednesday, July 19, 1933, in Corning, IA, passed away Friday, May 20, 2022, at his residence in Belleville, IL.
Donald worked for St. Louis Post Dispatch as a newspaper printer. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and a longtime Member of the Illinois Horse Racing Board and Indiana Horse Racing Commission as a Thoroughbred Horse Trainer and Groomer. He enjoyed horse training, traveling and Competitive Polka and Country Western Dancing but most of all he loved to watch the Cardinal games with his loved ones. He was a Veteran in the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his:
- Wife, Eileen nee Arnold, Haley
- Parents, Chester and Bessie, nee Roberts, Haley
- Step-son, Theodore Zehner Jr.
- Grandson, Stephen Zehner
Surviving are his:
- Granddaughter, Crystal (Brandon) Calvin of Belleville, IL.
Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Veterans Memorial.
Funeral: By his request, his body was donated to St. Louis Washington University School of Medicine.
