Dolores M. Fansher, nee Hood passed away Saturday, June 25, 2021; at Cedarhurst of Sparta. She was born on November 21, 1930 in East Saint Louis. Dolores and her husband of 66 years, Edward, lived many years in Belleville, Fairview Heights, and Smithton. Edward preceded her in death three years ago. Her parents, Paul and Nellie Hood, her younger sister Joyce, and beloved Aunt Darleen York also preceded her in death.

Dolores worked as an office technician for Swift Packing Company and then in catalogue sales for Sears. She was a member of Christ United Church in Fairview Heights and the Smithton Senior Center. She and Edward volunteered for Meals on Wheels for years. They enjoyed camping, often taking grandkids on these adventures. They made many dear friends around the campfire. As a terrific cook, no one ever left the Fansher house hungry. She was outgoing, made friends easily, and never knew a stranger. She also had a special love for animals

          Her family was the center of her world.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Belleville Area Humane Society

Visitation: Visitation Monday, June 28, 2021 from 5-8 pm, at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at 11:00 am. Private interment at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.

I am so sorry for your loss. Dolores and Ed lived behind us in Smithton. They were both so kind and loved my dog Abby. May they both RIP.
