Carol A. Brown, nee Harp, 72, of Belleville, IL, born Thursday, October 14, 1948, in St. Louis, MO, passed away Friday, December 25, 2020 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, IL.
She was preceded in death by her:

- Parents: Cecil and Emma nee Polete, Harp
- Daughter: Su Lynn Barnard
- Grandson: Nicholas Barnard

- Daughter: Bridget Ann (Shawn) Fry of Belleville, IL
- Brother: Dennis (Rose) Harp of Housesprings, MO

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the American Liver Foundation
Visitation: Visitation from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Illinois.
COVID-19 restrictions will be followed, masks required, and social distancing. Limit of 10 persons at any one time during the visitation. Please be respectful of time and do not linger so others may pay their respects to the family.

Carol was a member of a group of cousins who grew up on Booster Road in O’Fallon. I love living down the street from them and going to their house to play baseball, ride bikes and just get together. Carol was a bright star as we were growing up among us. Toby, as Lynne called you, will be greatly missed but your star shines even brighter today to watch over your family. Love you and I will miss your smiling face.

I loved Carol the moment I met her. She made me feel so welcome to her family and into her home. Our heart’s are broken but so thankful we had Carol in our lives for many year’s.

This is Aunt Helen’s daughter, Cindy…Carol and I used to speak on the phone here and there…I worked crazy hours it was hard to touch base…Carol one childhood memory…when we lived in Piedmont and all of us girls were driving around…you were driving with your knees LOL I thought that was the coolest thing…til we meet again and drive down our streets of gold♡♡♡love you Cuz

I love you Aunt Carol. I know my cousin is happy to have her mom and Nick is happy to have his grandma while Shawn and Bridget will be sad to be without you. I’m glad I got to see you not too long ago and let you know I love you. You’re going to be missed by all of us. I’m sorry for not making it tonight. I love you all so much.

Our deepest sincere condolences to all of Carol’s family. Carol was such a lovely lady. As a young adult I remember she just loved to enjoy life. I know her family was so dear to her and they will miss her terribly! I pray you are comforted knowing you will see her again one day. God bless you with comfort.
