Rest in peace, Carla. You now dwell in your Father’s House to praise Him forever. You had a good heart and were someone who had a very strong faith and belief that God is in charge, no matter what the circumstances were. We met in 1981, when Shannon and Kevin were kindergartners at St. Henry and we volunteered to be room mothers; I think we were room mothers for the kids’ entire grade school time and I got to know you better when you became a regular customer and I was selling Avon. You were born to be a volunteer as I continued to volunteer with you with St. Henry Ladies Club. The fish frys were another opportunity to work with you as we were on clean up crew for many years . Your family will miss you terribly and we pray they find comfort in our prayers. God and his angels surround all of you with their love and comfort. —–Sincere sympathy. Carol and David Bollman

Dear Dave, Shannon, August and families,
Carla was so very special and had the biggest heart of anyone I know! You could not think of her without smiling! She loved the Lord and St. Matthew!! Even though my heart is breaking for all of you, I am so happy for Carla! I know she was ecstatic to meet Jesus and maybe even speechless for the first time in her life! Heaven is definitely a brighter and happier place now that she is there! Please know that I am praying that you will feel God‘s loving arms wrapped around you, holding you close and filling you with His peace in the days and weeks ahead!

I knew Carla most of my life living just around the corner on 59th st. She had big heart, and I know she is in a good place with Jesus. To her family my deepest sympathy and may the peace of the Lord be with you.

So sorry for your loss Dave, Shannon, August, and grands! Carla was a basket of energy. I remember her walking Shannon in her classroom at St. Henry’s and volunteering as a crossing guard. She helped out St. Henry’s Ladies Club making name tags with a special theme for that month, like Hearts for Valentine’s Day. She also sent our Get Well and Sympathy cards to the ladies and always at fish fry helping the clean up crew. We will miss her spunk for sure! Prayers for Dave and family! Catherine Lugge

I volunteered with Carla at the TOCO Shop on Friday afternoons. What a wonderfully spirited soul! No physical limitation could stand in her way. She often spoke of her children, their spouses, her grandchildren, her brother, and her husband with love and pride. I am blessed to have known Carla.

Carla was so intrinsically and tangibly part of our church family that I could never imagine her no being there. We may not see her for a while, but she is there everywhere we look. Thank You, Lord, and family, for sharing her with us. She leaves a big void. Our greatest condolences to Dave, Shannon and family, and August and family. Know that she touched very many for Christ.

Dave, Shannon, August and family, my heart is heavy and hurting for all of you. I still see Carla hustling around the thrift shop Thursday buying Christmas presents for everyone with the biggest smile on her face. She had so much fun that day. She was in her new dress and found some red shoes to go with it. She was so excited to find all the pretty things for everyone. She loved all of you so much, but I don’t need to tell you that. Carla was such a special friend. She always wanted to know how I was doing. So glad she can see again and is dancing with Jesus. I will miss you Carla, but we will meet again.

I’m a little late in posting but Miss Carla, the ONLY thing I can think about since the moment I found out that you went home to be with the Lord, is that HUUUUGE smile of yours. I cannot remember a time that I didn’t see you with a smile. Your energy was awesomely mind-blowing and your heart was soooo in the right place. You radiated Jesus! Dave, Shannon, and August,. I know I’m slow to the punch but I just wanted to say I am so sorry for your loss and may the Lord continue to bring you peace! Love, Heather Fischer (Cole) and Family.
