Bruce Edward Alberter was born on December 17, 1948 in Millstadt, IL passed away at his home on April 18th after his brave battle with cancer. He did every treatment that was offered just to have more time with his family, who he loved and cherished. He was a fighter to the end.

He attended Cathedral High School and graduated from Althoff Catholic High School. He served two years in the U.S. Army and retired as a chemical operator for ICL in Missouri. Bruce met his loving wife Debbie and her daughter Sarah in 1980. They were married on January 18, 1983, in Belleville, IL and added another daughter together, Rachael, who made their family complete.

Bruce was a faithful, loving, supportive, and encouraging husband, father, son, and Paw Paw. He was a devoted family man who worked hard to provide and support his family, and always put others needs before his own.

Everyone who knew Bruce knew how much he loved baseball. He was a die-hard CUBS fan, who loved harassing all St. Louis Cardinal Fans. Bruce also loved animals, golfing, vacationing at the beach, cheering on his two daughters, going out to eat, cheeseburgers, and loved going to Bert’s Chuck Wagon once a week.

Bruce will be remembered for his kindness and compassion to others, his hard-working ethic, his silly, goofy, and unique personality, his big heart, and his devotion to his family. He will be greatly missed by all who know him.

Our family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Govindan, his nurse Meghan, and to Dr. Robinson at Siteman Cancer Center. Also to everyone who came in contact with Bruce such as the people in the treatment center, blood drawers, MRI, PET SCAN, and radiation department. The valet parkers and the kindness of the girls who checked you out at the valet desk. You all made it so much more tolerable for Bruce because of your kindness and compassion. We mean this for every one of you. You don’t realize how important you are for people going through a cancer journey. We love and appreciate all of you. Thank You!
