Beverly Roxanne May, 61, of Avondale, AZ, born Monday, August 7, 1961, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Estrella Health & Rehab in Avondale, AZ.
Beverly Roxanne grew up in E. St. Louis in Belleville, Illinois and attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale before moving to Arizona. She was a professional photographer in the Phoenix area for many years, specializing in event photography. Prior to her death she was a salesperson in the automotive business, working at two different Phoenix area Toyota dealerships.
She was preceded in death by her:
- Parents, Richard May Sr., and Roberta, nee Lyon, May
- Brother, Richard C. May, Jr.

- Sisters:
- Victoria May (Jeff Boyd) of Hutsonville, IL
- Melanie (Charles) Reibly of Glendale Heights, IL

- Andrew Reibly
- Michael Reibly
- Marcus Reibly
- Dear aunt, uncle and cousins
Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Arizona Humane Society.
Funeral: Memorial Gathering will be held at 10 am, Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, IL, with Rev. Doug Stewart officiating.

It is difficult to hear of the passing of a classmate. I can not believe it has been 45 years since the BTHS West class of 1978 walked across that stage in the stadium at Belleville West Belleville Il. I believe many of us were feeling excited, apprehensive and not sure what the future would hold for many of us!
But I for one never thought we would lose so many classmates so young! So this years 45th reunion will be one classmate less! My prayers are with Roxanne’s family!

I found her obituary while searching for someone else. I am in shock and disbelief. Roxanne and I used to hang out together shortly after I had finished high school. She was so much fun. She was rebellious, rambunctious, a rebel in every way. She was a blast to hang out with.
I can’t remember a time when she wasn’t smiling. No matter what the situation was, Roxanne saw the opportunity to have some fun and to brighten everyone else’s day. I am deeply saddened by this and heartbroken that I didn’t stay in touch with her.
The bright light of her life has not gone out but is shooting across the galaxy.
