Betty A. Englerth, nee Hartlipp, 79, of Belleville, IL, formerly of Hoyleton, IL, born Wednesday, July 17, 1940 passed away Friday, March 27, 2020 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, IL.
Betty taught Sunday School and Prayer Services at Prisons and Nursing Homes. She raised a wonderful family and was a hard worker for 20 years as a Custodian. She was a life-time member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Belleville, IL and was very fond of Pastor George Szabolcsi as he gave her inspiration in her faith.
She was preceded in death by her:

- Sister: Grace Meyer
- Brother-in-law: Wilfred Daum
Surviving are her:

- Romona Weck of Houston, TX
- Rhonda (Ron) Hodgkins of Millstadt, IL
- Rebecca (Phil) Douglas of Smithton, IL
- Grandchildren

- Brandon (Amy)Weck
- Amanda and Ryan Bauer
- Great-grandchildren: Emma, Owen and Tripp Webster
- Brother: Arvey Hartlipp

- Beverly Hancock
- Brother-in-law: Paul Meyer
- Many dear nieces, nephews and cousins

Funeral Services: Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 18, 2020, at Smithton City Cemetery, with Rev. George Szabolcsi officiating.

Betty was one of my most loved customer when I was working for Walgreens. She was always super sweet and kind. When I retired she was one of the few customers I really missed. Rest in peace Betty.

Betty is missed by me for sure. She was ALWAYS so kind to me and made sure I knew she had me in her prayers always.

Betty was always Super nice to me when I’d go to their home on Mascoutah Rd. to hang out with Becky! I’m talking way back when we we’re in grade school! 40++ years!

My Mother enjoyed having people over very much! There are lots of fun memories from those days. It will be difficult going forward but I know my Mother is where she wants to be!

So very sorry about the passing of Aunt Betty, girls. I always loved to go to Aunt Betty’s house, and especially spending the night as a young girl. While there, we would have popcorn in the evening while watching Elvis movies. I remember watching her meticulous ironing clothes, I think of her while doing my own ironing, trying to do just as nice of job. She taught me structor, with the chore chart and having to take turns doing the dishes. When she put the dishes in the sink she would always put any sharp knives or silverware on the right side of the sink, so you would know to be careful to not cut yourself. To this day I put the knives and silverware on the right side of the sink, I’ve also taught my daughter the same thing. I would observe Aunt Betty while she did her housework, always having a very tidy home.
Aunt Betty will be missed.

Your comments really made me laugh! I know all of those traits have been passed on to myself as well. Even the times I would get so frustrated because I just wanted to get the job done. My Mother enjoyed being a Mother, Aunt, Sister and Friend to all. She spoke often of the days our kitchen table was full and everyone telling her how they loved her food. Thank you for your message and she is still there for all of us!!
