Barbara A. Tarter, beloved mother, dedicated nurse, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at the age of 74. She was born on May 30, 1949, to the late Francis and Victoria, Stacy, nee Magiera, and was a loving sister to John (Judy) Stacy, Mary Ellen (Wayne Barnard) Stacy, Mark (Joanne) Stacy, numerous nieces and nephews.

Barb dedicated over 40 years of her life to the nursing profession, serving in various capacities including home health/hospice, physician offices, and hospitals. Her commitment to caring for others extended beyond her professional life, as she was known for her unwavering support and nurturing nature within her family and community.

A passionate crafter, Barb found joy in knitting, crafting, and creating beautiful quilts. Her talents brought warmth and comfort to those around her, and her creations were treasured by friends and family alike. Barb’s Thursday night knitting group and Friday morning coffee chats with her neighbors were highlights of her week, where she shared laughter, stories, and friendship.

Barb will be deeply missed by her three loving children: Jennifer (Aaron) Steinke, Robert (Beth) Tarter, and Amanda Tarter. She was a devoted grandmother to Nathan, Katherine, Luke, and Noah, who brought her immense joy and pride.

Barb was previously married to William R. Tarter, from whom she later divorced.

In the hearts of those who knew her, Barb will be remembered for her gentle spirit, generous nature, and the love she shared with all who crossed her path. She always referred to herself as ‘delightful and charming’. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will forever be cherished.

Memorials: In lieu of flower memorials may be given to Angie’s Purpose.

Private family interment.
