Bean was such an amazing person. They used he/they pronouns and I felt the need to make a comment here and talk about who Bean was. Bean was incredibly proud of their transgender identity and he had just recently gotten approved to start HRT. He was so excited to be able to start living authentically to the way they felt internally. It is such an incredible loss to the world that Bean has passed so young…so incredibly young. And only days away from their 23rd birthday. Bean and I got very close over the past year and became one of my best friends ever. It’s been incredibly difficult to know that Bean will never get to experience the life that he was trying to get to. They were fighting so hard for their life and wellbeing and mental health. It’s so incredibly upsetting that doctors didn’t listen to him when he needed them to. He was keeping track of his blood pressure because it was dropping very low frequently. And yet…even with that evidence, he couldn’t get help. Bean, I love you so much and my heart has an empty hole without you here. I hope that I can find ways to honor who you were, all of who you were, every single day that I live. I cannot wait until we meet again and I’m going to give you the hugest hug.
