Billy Cohlmeyer

Billy G. Cohlmeyer, 81, of Fairview Heights, IL, born Saturday, October 13, 1928, in Richview, IL, died Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Mr. Cohlmeyer worked as a Band Director for Cahokia High School from 1954 to 1984. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Fairview Heights, IL, a 55 year member of Gothic Lodge #852 AF & AM, Scottish Rite Bodies, Ainad Shrine, Dania Shrine Club, Past President and Director of the Brass Band, Past President of Noblemen, Past Director of Southern Illinois Court #86 ROJ, Moose Lodge #1221 Swansea, IL, Phi Mu Alpha Music Fraternity, 101st Airborne Division Band, Illinois Federation of Teachers, Illinois Retired Teachers Association, Kentucky Colonel and Distinguished Educator Music Alumnus for Murray State University in 1979. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4-8 pm, Sunday, August 15, 2010 at the Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville, IL and from 9-10 am, Monday, August 16, 2010 at St. John United Church of Christ, Fairview Heights, IL.

There will be a Jesters walk-through at 7:13pm, followed by the Brass Band walk-through and a Masonic Service.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, August 16, 2010 at St. John United Church of Christ, 10207 Lincoln Trail, Fairview Heights, IL with Rev. Kevin Weaver officiating. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
