Glenda Jo Heckert



Glenda Jo Heckert, 71, of Belleville, IL, born Saturday, July 15, 1939, in Bertrand, Missouri, died Friday, March 18, 2011 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, MO.

Miss Heckert was a retired school teacher and owner of Snooty Fox Salons. She was a member of numerous organizations.

She was preceded in death by:

  • Parents: William D. and Lois Sweet Heckert.

Visitation: Friends may call from 11-1 P.M., Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Kurrus Funeral Home Chapel with Allen Blanton Jr officiating. Interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.

    I was saddened to learn of Glenda's passing. We both taught English for several years at Roosevelt High School, but had lost touch after her transfer to VAP. What I remember most about Glenda was her off-beat sense of humor that never failed to make me laugh--especially her Dolly Parton imitation.

    Please accept my sincere sympathy. Glenda and I taught together at Roosevelt High School. As a matter of fact, for a while we had neighboring classrooms. That allowed us to chat in the hall between each and every class. We had some good laughs together. I really appreciated Glenda's great sense of humor.
