Susannah K. Marison

Susannah K. Marison, nee Cook, 36, of Belleville, IL, born Wednesday, April 11, 1973, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL, died Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville.

Susannah was a graduate of Belleville West High School and received her Bachelor's Degree in elementary education and English education from Augustana College, where she met her husband, Matthew Marison. She and Matthew have two wonderful children, Anna Elisabeth and Jacob Matthew. She adored her husband and children, and they her.

Following graduation from college, she taught in the Cahokia School system and was a member of Illinois Federation of Teachers Local #1272, serving as the union building representative at Huffman Elementary School in Cahokia. After the birth of Anna, she became a stay at home mom, working part-time at a local law firm as office manager and serving as a volunteer at her children's school, her church and for other worthwhile charities where the primary focus was on providing education services for disadvantaged children. Susannah was a spectacular human being whose life, although unfortunately short, was rich beyond measure.

Susannah's life, although short, was well lived. She was a devoted wife and mother who made time to help others. Susannah was christened, confirmed in Christ, married and now will celebrate her funeral service at the First United Presbyterian Church, 1303 Royal Heights Road, Belleville, IL. She will be greatly missed by her husband, children, her family and all who knew her.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Send a Cow (to an African village) or the National Neurofibromatosis Foundation, Inc.

Visitation: Friends may call from 3 to 8 pm, Wednesday, February 10, 2009 at the Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville, IL and from 9:00 to 10:30 am Thursday, February 11, 2009 at First United Presbyterian Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, February 11, 2010 at First United Presbyterian Church, 1303 Royal Heights Road, Belleville, IL with Rev. Dr. Greg Stovell and Rev. Alex Hendrickson officiating. Interment will follow at Green Mount Protestant Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
