Dorothy M. Schanuel

  

Dorothy M. Schanuel, nee Buenger, 77, of Smithton, IL, born Friday, May 13, 1932, in Granite City, IL, died Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Freeburg Care Center.

Mrs. Schanuel was a retired cook for Freeburg High School. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ - Freeburg and Al Sihah Temple #29 Daughters of the Nile. She was an avid Cardinal baseball fan and loved to spend time with her grand kids.

She was preceded in death by her:

  • Son: Myron Schanuel
  • Sister: Wilma Woodring
  • Brother-in-Law: Virgil Klueter
  • Grandson: Brian Schanuel

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the St. Paul's United Church of Christ - Freeburg or Shriners Hospital for Children.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday, April 23, 2010 at the Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Kurrus Funeral Home, with Rev. Earl Crecelius officiating. Interment will follow at Caseyville City Cemetery, Caseyville, IL.
