    Marcus,
    I remember the last time I saw you. It was just before you left for Basic Training. We caught up for almost an hour! I wish it would have been longer. Ever since grade school, you've been a great friend. As you've grown, you've become an even greater man. I am honored to call you a friend. Your commitment to our country, as well as your family and friends, is more than enough to prove that you are something special. My heart goes out to your family and friends during this hard time. I hope that one day we'll meet up again...maybe then we can catch up for more than an hour! Be good up there!

    Baby, I love and miss you so much. Today was one of the hardest days of my life. I am still not ready to say goodbye. I hope we made you proud today and you have no doubt how much we all love you. I know you were there with us and I can feel you now more than ever. I apparently still have a job to do down here and yours has been fulfilled. Now you may rest in peace free from pain and conflicts. Until we meet again on the other side....I love you more than all the stars in the Texan sky.

    My deepest sympathy to Marcus' frends, family and the Soldiers he loved so much. The words of this hymn say it all:
    Going home, going home,
    I'm just going home.
    Quiet-like, slip away-
    I'll be going home.
    It's not far, just close by;
    Jesus is the Door;
    Work all done, laid aside,
    Fear and grief no more.
    Friends are there, waiting now.
    He is waiting, too.
    See His smile! See His hand!
    He will lead me through.

    Morning Star lights the way;
    Restless dream all done;
    Shadows gone, break of day,
    Life has just begun.
    Every tear wiped away,
    Pain and sickness gone;
    Wide awake there with Him!
    Peace goes on and on!
    Going home, going home,
    I'll be going home.
    See the Light! See the Sun!
    I'm just going home.
