Ernest G. "Ernie" Allen

Ernest G. "Ernie" Allen, 82, of Belleville, IL, born Thursday, September 13, 1928, in East St. Louis, IL, died Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at St. Louis University Hospital in Saint Louis, MO.

Mr. Allen was a retired Instrument Manager for Ameren UE for 25 years. He was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Belleville, IL, Golf League, New Life Club and the New Life Choir at the church. He was also a member of East Lodge #504 AF & AM, Scottish Rite Bodies, Ainad Shrine (Legion of Honor, Sargent of Arms) American Legion Post, Treasure for Local #148 Credit Union and an avid Cardinal fan. Mr Allen was a US Army veteran war.

He was preceded in death by his:

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the St. Matthew United Methodist Church or Ainad Shrine. 

Visitation: Friends may call from 4-8 P.M., Friday, February 4, 2011 at the Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, IL. There will be a Masonic Services on Friday at 7:30pm at the funeral home.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Kurrus Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Patton and Rev. Jim Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.

    We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Ernie was one of those people whom we looked forward to seeing every Sunday at St. Matthew during our years there. He always had a smile and a complimentary word for me. Our prayers are with you.
