Richard W. Shaw

Richard W. Shaw, 88, of Belleville, IL, born Thursday, September 15, 1921, in Clinton, MO, died Friday, September 3, 2010 in Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Shaw worked as Office Manager for Lanter Trucking. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Deacon and Elder of the church. Served in the U.S. Army in WWII in the Pacific Theatre as company clerk. Volunteer at the shelter shop in Belleville, IL.

He was preceded in death by his:

  • Wife: Peggy S. nee Fisher Shaw
  • Parents: Charles and Katherine nee Schock Shaw

Surviving are his:

    • Kelly Shaw (Charlie) Jones of Columbia, IL

    • Jessica (John) Jensen
    • Noah Hemmer
    • Olivia Hemmer
    • Chaz Wood

Memorials: Memorials may be given to the Violence Prevention Center.

Service: Memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on September 15, 2010 at First United Presbyterian Church, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Alex Hendrickson officiating. Interment will be private.
