Odies Young
Odies Young, 85, of Belleville, IL, born Wednesday, April 15, 1925, in South Fulton, TN, died Sunday, December 26, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Young worked as a Foreman for Illinois Central Railroad. He was a member of Hickman Lodge #131 AF&AM and Scottish Rite Bodies of Southern Illinois. He was a WWII Army veteran and a Bronze Star recipient.
He was preceded in death by his:
- Parents: Thomas Holman and Lillie, nee Collins, Young
- Brother: Thomas H. Young, Jr.
- Sister: Clara Jackson
- Great-Grandson: Quincy Russell
Surviving are his:
- Wife: Evelyn P., nee Presley, Young
- Son: Joe L. (Virginia) Young of Clinton, KY
- Daughter: Kelli (Bob Maxwell) Keeley of Belleville, IL
- Grandchildren
- Leigh Ann (Ben) Russell
- Stephannie (Andy) Rudd
- Conor Keeley
- Great-Grandchildren
- Melody Russell
- Deacon Rudd
Memorials: Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4-8 pm, Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville, IL. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30 pm.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11:15 am Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Kurrus Funeral Home, with Rev. Jim Slone officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
